A Beautiful Wife
A beautiful wife is more than skin deep,
she transcends the daily grind;
Her spirit is one that’s open and sweet
though the many demands on her time.
My wife has her moments in worry and doubt
but rarely doubting her Lord;
her trust is stedfast in the midst of the bout
where the enemy keeps wielding his sword.
I’m in awe of her faith, her believing the truth
dispelling the enemy fire;
my beautiful wife from the time of my youth,
a beacon of light I admire.

Miracle
I long to be a miracle to everyone I see,
for Thou, O Lord, can verily make a miracle out of me.
My flesh doth strive and tries to quench Thy mighty working power,
so to the cross you lead me to remind me of the hour.
"It is finished!" You cried that glorious day You died upon the tree,
so too my striving ended when in Christ I died with Thee.
A new creation, holy and pure is what I am today,
forgiven, loved, accepted and complete in every way.
No longer is it I but Christ; He's won the victory!
The battle was never mine to fight but Christ Who lives in me.
Surrendered, now, to Your Life within and trusting You by faith,
the Life of Christ is manifest, a miracle of Your grace.

God's will is not lost
Where do I go? What must I do? these questions we often embrace;
how to proceed or when to move on in this life that we run as a race.
We're seeking His will, clear and precise, before we take the next step;
concerned we may veer off the path He designed we think promises
blessing and rest.
God's will is not something to fear and to fret nor is it a path we must find,
but rather a Person who loves and adores who is patient, gentle and kind.
God's will is His Son who lives in our heart, longing to express through me
the life of Christ through the Spirit of God in my every word and or deed.
Rest in His grace and look to His word and walk in His love that abounds;
never look back to the fear and the fret for God's will is not lost it is found.

Where there is no vision
Waking up at my normal time I plod throughout the day,
doing what I always do and saying what I always say.
Occasional blips of highs or lows have sometimes come my way,
but joy unspeakable and full of grace eludes me again today.
To continue on this treadmill will never fill my need,
to see the love of Jesus Christ expressed in power through me.
Oh God I pray restore the vision You once so clearly gave,
that drove me in my plans and goals to You most every day.
Without a vision we simply wander tossing to and fro,
and sooner than we realize, our time on earth is gone.
Activity is not the answer and doing's been done before,
it's clarity of purpose through Christ that must be sure.

A Final Breath
A final breath upon this earth, a light once bright has dimmed;
the one I love has taken flight yet questions still remain.
Reason can not understand, my faith once strong has waned;
goals and dreams are put on hold while questions still remain.
Why did God allow this pain? What kind of plan is this?
Where suffering takes center stage amidst omnipotence.
Although I do not understand, I've heard all this before;
My Father shared His Story of the Son that He adored.
A Son so pure who never sinned who lived beyond reproach;
yet nailed upon a roman cross, it seemed all hope was lost.
No one knew nor understood the plan of God that day,
how death upon that rugged cross won life and victory.
Resurrected from the grave with arms held open wide,
our Lord now welcomes all His kids back home when it is time.
Questions may not go away and answers may not come,
the only rest we'll ever find is turning to the Son.
Omnipotence has never left, the sovereign King still reigns;
He holds the one I loved so much and ends the suffering.
Though I may never understand this loss that grieves my soul,
I can take comfort in the fact my Father's in control.
